Jan started dancing Balboa in 2005.
He also dances Lindy Hop since 1996 and has danced Argentine Tango around 1997-2003. He has tried a little Ballroom, Latin, swedish Folkdance, Bugg and swedish Foxtrot.
"What I like most about Balboa is that it's so much a social dance. I've never been much for competing or doing choreography - what I like best is to just improvise with the music and have fun together with my partner. Of all the dances I've tried, Balboa gives me the best tools to do that."
Jan is the founder of the Gothenburg Balboa Institute. He was also the organizer of the first Pure Balboa Weekend (no breakaways), which was held in Gothenburg in May 2007.
His main teaching partner, and partner for life, is Anna Printzell.
