Fräntorps Folkets Hus

Fräntorps Folkets Hus
The dance hall
About the venue
The dance hall is about 11 x 12 m and has a wooden floor that is good for Balboa (we've tried it!).

There are 3 toilets but no showers. There is a kitchen with a fridge, a coffee maker and a dishwasher, and utensils for 100 people to eat. There's also a stove with an oven for warming food, but cooking food is prohibited by the owners.

How to get there

The best map is available from Eniro. Press the button "utsikt" to get a good view of the house, the parking space and the E20 exit with the bus stop.

By car

Take route E20 from the centre of Gothenburg, direction Alingsås (towards east). Take the exit Fräntorpsmotet which follows directly after Torpamotet. After the exit, pass through the first road crossing and turn left into the car park (see the map).

By bus

Take bus 513 from Heden and get off at the stop Fräntorp, which is by the E20 exit. From the bus stop walk about 200 m, see the map.

The bus route is circular, so make sure that you get on the bus in the right direction. Both ways will get you there, but one will take 12 minutes and the other 52 minutes...

Time tables are available from Västtrafik:

To fräntorp Into town
Monday-Friday Monday-Friday
Saturday Saturday
Sunday Sunday

By tram

You can also take tram no 1 to Östra Sjukhuset, which is south of Folkets Hus (see map), and walk from there. It's a few hundred meters longer to walk, but if you live close to the tram route this might be a better alternative.

By bike

There are many good routes, of course depending on where you start. From Korsvägen you can go east to St Sigfrids Plan, continue on Delsjövägen (which changes name to Munkebäcksgatan) and turn right just before E20 at Munkebäcksmotet. Continue along E20 for less than 2 km until the exit Fräntorpsmotet. There are bike routes almost all the way, and it's quite easy to find. It would take me about 30 minutes from Korsvägen, but you might have a faster bike... ;)
